Dear Ms. Dunning,
I don't mind writing the ten to fifteen page Capstone paper. I learned a lot about the field I wanted to go into during my research. What I don't understand is how our professors expect us to find a solution to a problem in a field that we don't have any experience in. I always hear stories about a student in RCHS who actually had a paper published. That is more of an exception than a rule. I am doing something medical related. I don't know enough about my topic to propose a new solution to the problem. There is so much I don't know. I talked to some medical professionals in my field of study about my topic and they were surprised that we were expected to do such a final product in high school. While I learned something about my topic, 99.9% of the time I have no clue what I was discussing or what I was writing my summaries about. It is too complicated.
